The day of the year when it is okay to completely gorge yourself on every morsel of food in sight is upon us, so I thought it was only appropriate to highlight it. I can’t decide what would be more lame- talking about it or ignoring it. But ultimately I decided there are too many good recipes involved in this tradition to ignore it.
This year, I’m hosting a personal bake off. I receive Saveur and Bon Appetit every month. Each one boasts the best Pumpkin Pie recipe. And given that I’ve never baked one, it’s time for a bake off. If I don’t get too drunk tomorrow afternoon to use my camera phone appropriately, expect some photos of the competition, and all other delicious dishes prepared. If I do get too drunk, well, that’s called a holiday.
