After what seemed like a billion hour drive to Omaha, I arrived and went immediately to the bar. Enticed by the fact that their drinks are traditional, speakeasy style I wanted my first stop to be at Krug Park. The chalkboard menu, ironic mustaches, tight jeans and bright lipstick reminds me of my neighborhood in Chicago, and I felt at home the moment I walk in. The bartenders are “cool nice” and not overly excitable. But they make a damn good drink, and at that point, who really cares?! I took my beautiful White Lilly cocktail out to the newly built patio that still smelled of wood.
The White Lilly a cocktail composed of Dry Gin, Creme de violette, Cointreaux, muddled lemon, Peychaud’s Bitters- was the best way to start the evening, especially with a small group of amazing people to share it with.
In a few sips the was gone. After being tortured by the aromas wafting off the patio below us, we were off to dinner next door.
