I pretty much jumped out of my pants the other day when a client invited me to the opening of his new dining venture. 1. Because I was stupidly excited to be invited to something that was not even open to the general public and 2. because it was based on my love of food so i felt like I was really hitting stride in my food reviewing/writing. (Although irrationally so, this client has no idea that my love of food involves secretly writing about it and I’m not even sure he reads that portion of the paper.) Also, the induction of this restaurant unveils Soul Food to Cedar Rapids. Perhaps that is being done somewhere around here…. I’ve just never come across it.
So here is what happened after I arrived, and how much I enjoyed every bite of fried food I could find.
